Margaret "Peg" Knoblock of Dracut died peacefully at D'Youville long term care center in Lowell on Monday November 7, 2022 at the age of 86. Born in PA, Peg was an avid reader and a scientist who was always curious to learn something new. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Biology from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate student at St. John's University in Queens, NY when she met the love of her life. She was married to Hank for over 60 years and together they had 6 children. Even while raising children, Peg always found time to volunteer. A few of these positions were as a Girl Scout troop leader, CCD teacher, and tutor/mentor to developmentally delayed teenagers. She was passionate about giving back especially when it involved helping children. She was also an avid gardener, seamstress and crafter. If her hands were idle, she wasn't happy. Mrs. Knoblock was predeceased by her husband, Henry "Hank" Knoblock Jr. and her daughter, Claire DeRosa of Mansfield. She is survived by three daughters: Jeanette and her husband Jack Finney of Lake Tahoe, NV, Irene and her husband Scott Lattanzio of Andover, and Suzanne Rubin of Hendersonville, NC. Two sons: Henry Knoblock, III and his wife Ann of Sudbury, Stephen Knoblock and his wife Karen of Acworth, GA. One son-in-law: Thomas DeRosa and his wife Dr. Julie Stepanian of Wellesley, MA. There are 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and one on the way, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral and burial will be held in Sherman, CT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made in her honor to Salesian Missions, New Rochelle, NY (salesianmissions.org) or the Carroll Center for the Blind, Boston, MA (Carroll.org).
