Obituary

Margaret M. (Lynch) Maxwell, 86, of Bellingham died Sunday, November 5, 2022 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Loring D. Maxwell who died in 2009.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 31, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Margaret (Brown) Lynch.

Margaret was a resident of Bellingham for the past 20 years and formerly resided in Medway for many years. She grew up in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Framingham State and her Master’s in Education from Leslie University.

Margaret was an elementary school teacher for the town of Medway for many years until her retirement.

She was a very active member of the Medway Community Church and wrote a book on the history of the church. She was also very active at the Bellingham Senior Center.

Margaret had served on the Bellingham Historical Commission and enjoyed doing genealogy with her late husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy Ballou and her husband, Richard of Oakham, MA, two sons, Steven Maxwell and his wife Nancy of Medway and Michael Maxwell and his wife Karen of Medway, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was the mother of the late Vicki Frechette, grandmother of the late Michael Frechette and Jessica Ann Maxwell as well as the sister of the late John “Jack” Lynch.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, November 13 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com).

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, November 14 at the Medway Community Church, 196 Main Street in Medway at 10.a.m. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Medway.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Margaret’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
