Obituary

On Sunday, October 30th, 2022, Solon “Mr. Solon” Paul, passed away at the young age of 64 loosing his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Solon was born November 17, 1957, in Thomassique, Haiti to parents Elisemonde Bien-Aime and Decius Paul. He imigrated to the United States in the early 1990s to Boston, MA, where he ran his career as an Independent Taxi Company Driver and a true Bostonian.

If you asked a hundred people who Mr. Solon was, they’d all give you a different story. He was a dad, he was a provider, a kind and funny guy, a Taxi Driver, and an airport connoisseur. Always running on Dunkin. He was a Boston Celtics Fan, and a Boston Red Sox Fan. He had every championship shirt! You would always find him wearing Boston sports team memorabilia. He was also a Real Madrid fan. He loved watching futbol matches and had a dream of going to Spain one day. He was committed to his health and loved his Planet Fitness membership, and spent the majority of his time on the treadmill. That was his favorite machine. He was truly all of these things and much more.

Solon enjoyed spending his time with his children, teaching himself the Spanish language, and playing dominoes with his fellow Taxi drivers. You would always find him expanding his knowledge of Boston and its surrounding communities. If there was a friend that didn’t know how to get to a location he would take the time and walk them through it. He was a human GPS. He was always able to tell you how to get from point A to point B with no hesitation. He knew the city like the back of his hand. He was also known to crack jokes and brought a smile to many peoples’ faces as he was the light of every conversation. His smile and laughter are truly something we’ll never forget.

Solon was a devoted Father to Solon Paul Jr., Esperancia Paul Francillon, Carine Paul, and Paula Paul. He was also a loving brother to Lydia Paul, Adius Paul, Decilien Paul, Amita Paul, Anna Paul, Adelina Paul Joseph, and Anelie Paul. He was also a loving grandfather to Zaire Solon Paul.
