Obituary

Athol – Pauline A. (Roy) Gardner, 79, of Athol and formerly of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 29, 2022 in Athol Hospital.

Pauline is survived by her daughter, Lynne Labrie and her husband, Robert of Spencer; a son Allen Gardner and his longtime companion, Anette Nyqvist of Sweden; a sister, Janet Lambert of Sandwich, MA; a close friend, Donna Woods; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Lulu, Adam Lulu, Becky Lulu, Josh Lulu, Jessica Gardner, Daniel Gardner and Nicholas Scannell; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Normand and Helen (Jette) Roy and is also predeceased by her longtime companion, Kenneth Woods; a brother, Ronald Roy and two sisters, Sr. Elaine Roy and Sr. Lucille Roy.

She graduated from Millbury High School in 1961 and worked for Robinson Thread Company and Eddington Thread Company before going to work at Westborough State Hospital as a mental health worker.

Pauline was an expert at word searches and would never pass up the opportunity to take shopping trip. She loved to spend time with her family, friends and neighbors and could often be found watching the Hallmark Channel or taking a daytrip to Foxwoods.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 7 at 11 AM in Notre Dame Cemetery 162 Webster St. Worcester. Memorial contributions in memory of Pauline may be made to help fight breast cancer by donating to Susan G. Komen 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380.
