FALL RIVER… Helen Louise (Hicks) Steinhof, age 96, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 26, 2022.
Louise was born in Randleman, NC to the late Claude and Ida (Mannis) Hicks. She later moved to Massachusetts, where she lived most of her life. Louise was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Steinhof, D.D.S.
Mrs. Steinhof was very active in her community as a member of the New Bedford Country Club, the Fall River Women’s Club, Shepherd’s Club, and the Exchange Club. She enjoyed bowling, golf, and going to Broadway shows. Louise was known for her great cooking and gardening. She was also communicant of the former Holy Rosary Church.
Survivors include: daughter: Jody L. Fedele of Plantation, FL, sons: Edward J. Steinhof Jr. of Palm City, FL, David L. Steinhof D.D.S., of Foster, RI. and Gregory E. Steinhof of Fall River, MA. sister: Delette Self of Asheboro, NC, 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son the late Michael S. Steinhof, her daughter the late Carol Ann Steinhof, brothers the late Eugene, Hal, Claude, Winfred, and Glen Hicks, sisters the late Jewel Rich, Diane Johnson, and Nellie Ruth Hicks.
Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held at 9AM on Monday October 31, 2022 at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River, MA 02723, followed by a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, Hanover St Fall River. Interment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Fall River, MA.
Calling hours will be Sunday October 30, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
