Obituary

STEEP FALLS - Harry (Chip) Proudman III, 72, of Steep Falls, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, in his home of 30 years surrounded by family. Chip was born June 8, 1950, in Southington, Connecticut, son of the late Harry and Valborg (Larsen) Proudman. Chip was the second child of four, a late older brother Robert (Bob), a younger sister Joan, youngest brother Jon, and best friend of over 50 years Bruce Jarry. He is survived by his wife Cathi Proudman of 34 years, four children: Lindsay, Leslie, Scott and his wife Rachel, and Sam and his wife Tiffani, and five Grandchildren: Camden, Chace, Jace, Wyatt, and Cullen. Chip graduated from Bio-Medical photography school out of Harvard in the early 70s and carried on by photographing weddings and other special events within the family throughout his life. With that, his passion for photography continuously grew and he shared countless memories with family and friends throughout his life. He’s done many things throughout his life regarding a career, but the longest standing career was driving gasoline tankers for Cumberland Farms (formerly Gulf) for the past 35 years. He ended his career with a 3,000,000-mile accident-free safety award presented to him at home. Chip also enjoyed tree work, and any kind of home remodeling and building odds and ends, which he passed down his creative passion to his family and more specifically his children. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 2 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road, Buxton. A reception will be held immediately following at 14 Mill Street Steep Falls. Online condolence messages can be submitted at the funeral home website, www.mainefuneral.com
