Wayne W. Szczepanek 73, died at home Saturday October 22, 2022. He was born in Providence RI, he was the son of Bronislaw Szczepanek and Agnes (Lawton) Szczepanek.
Wayne Graduated from Mt Pleasant High School Providence RI in January 1967 and from the Wentworth Institute of Technology Boston MA in 1969. After graduating from Wentworth, Wayne joined the United States Air Force and then the Rhode Air Nation Guard full time. He ended his military career when he joined the Rhode Island State Police in 1979. He retired from the State Police with the Rank of Detective in 1986, when he moved to Las Vegas NV. He worked at McCarran International Airport until he retired in 2019. He retired as a Manager in the Security Division.
He is survived by his wife Charlene (Malone) Szczepanek of 49 years. He is also survived by his Sister Sandra (Szczepanek) Gilheeney and nephew Dr. Stephen Gilheeney, both of Brooklyn NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Visitation Friday morning, 9:30-10:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
