Bosanquet, of Plymouth, May 21st, Dorothy Elizabeth (Dennis) 81. Beloved wife of the late John A. Bosanquet. Mother of Carol Ann Cutts of Townshend, VT, N. Thompson Bosanquet of Plymouth, MA Trudi (Gertrude) Elizabeth Buckley of Brookline, NH and the late John A. Bosanquet Jr. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26th at 10 o’clock at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 159 Main St., Sandwich. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., N. Plymouth, MA. Burial will be at the Canton Corner Cemetery in Canton, MA.

Dorothy Bosanquet Devoted to family and nurse

Dorthy (Dennis) Bosanquet, 82, a longtime resident of Canton, Ma. died Sunday, May 21, 2006, of Alzheimer’s disease at Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Plymouth, MA..

Born Aug. 7, 1924 in Hyde Park, MA., she was the daughter of William J. and Katherine Dennis (Thompson) of Dedham, MA. She is survived by her sister Alice SanMartino of Nashua, NH. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Canton, Ma until she moved to East Sandwich, Ma.. She became a devoted member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in E. Sandwich, Ma. where she and her husband John A. (Al) Bosanquet established a Day Care Center for families of lesser incomes. She graduated from Dedham High School, attended Simmons College, received her licensed practical nurse from Waltham Hospital School of Nursing and later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph College in Windham, Me. in 1977.

Dot worked evenings at the Goddard Hospital when her children were growing. She enjoyed time with her friends; the “Rag Pickers”, hand braiding rugs and sharing life’s meaning. Later she became the Assistant Librarian at Canton High School and then Head Librarian at the Kennedy Elementary School in Canton, MA. In 1978 she and her husband settled in East Sandwich where she became Nurse/Nutritionist for the Head Start Pre-school Program of Cape Cod. She enjoyed winters in Barefoot Bay, Fla. with Al during her early retirement. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, knitting clothing for them and teaching them important values and caring for them deeply and individually. She and her husband toured Europe with the Cape Cod Chorral and sang in the church choir. Her talents included sewing, knitting, needlepoint, rug braiding, gardening and watercolor and oil painting.

Beloved wife of John A. Bosanquet. Mother of Carol Ann Cutts of Townshend, Vt., N.Thompson Bosanquet of Plymouth, Ma., Trudi (Gertrude) Elizabeth Buckley of Nashua, NH and the late John A. Bosanquet Jr.. Eleven grandchildren include Jennifer Maier, Bethany White, Allison Cutts, Kevin Cutts, Barnaby Bosanquet, Benjamen Bosanquet, Abigail (Tiggy) Fraccalossi, Bradley Bosanquet, Jessica Murray, Randy Buckley, Casey Buckley, and nine beloved great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25th from 5-7 PM at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., N. Plymouth, MA.. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26th at 10 o’clock at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 159 Main St. Sandwich, MA.. Burial will follow at the Canton Corner Cemetery, Canton, MA..
