Obituary

LOWELL - Myriam Christine ‘Mimi’ Victor, 43 of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 9, 2022. She was born in Port Au Prince, Haiti on June 18, 1979 and was a daughter of the late Gerard Victor and Marie Astrel of Lowell.

At a young age, she moved to Florida and New York before relocating to Lowell, where she was raised and educated in the Lowell Schools, graduating from Lowell High School. Myriam served with the United States Army in 1997 until her discharge. At the age of 19, she was diagnosed with Scleroderma; however, She overcame it while raising her son, Zeandre. She then continued her education obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree from UMass Lowell in 2013; followed by her Master’s Degree from Southern NH University in 2016.

Mimi loved fashion, reading, clothing, and shopping. She enjoyed a good debate with friends and family.

She was an entrepreneur, working for Edenred Commuter Benefit Solution from Nov 2019-July 2022; for HR/Talent Acquisition Coordinator- Fresenius Medical Care North America from May 2018-Nov 2019; and for Putnam Investments from December 2012-May 2018.

Myriam is survived by her son, Zeandre Victor of Lowell; her mother Marie Carmel Astrel and stepfather Nicholas Astrel both of Lowell; her siblings, Jerry Victor and his wife, Isabel Capinha of Nashua, Nancy Astrel of Lowell, Antz Victor of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Junior Victor of Fort Lauderdale, FL.

She is survived by many cousins, including John Belony of Syosset, NY, Marie Stephania Belony of Salem, MA, Sandy Destra of Derry, NH, Annabelle Solange Guillaume of Salem, MA, Alexa Louis of Washington DC, Dextra Leisure of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Germond Celestin of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Carii Victor of Haverhill, MA, Pierre Astrel of Hawaii and Patrick Astrel of New York. She is also survived by many friends, including Courtney Colcord and Fallan Figaro; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews including Marie Maud Destra of Central Islip New York, Paul Martial Louis of Lawrence Ma, Marie Andree Desire of Syosset New York, Marie Yvetta Louis of Port au Prince Haiti, Austin Wendell Victor, Maxwell Anthony Victor,Victoria Victor and Azura Victor. 

On Thursday, October 27, 2022, all are welcome to attend her visitation from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816. At 11:30 relatives and friends will be invited to share memories, before a procession to Saint Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
