Robert Cahill - Obituary
Robert (Bob) Cahill of Tewksbury Massachusetts, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease passed away peacefully at his home on 13 October 2022 at the age of 85.

He was born in Cambridge Mass, the son of the late William and Priscilla (Marsh) Cahill. After graduating from Billerica Memorial High School, Bob worked for many years as a draftsman. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt throughout North America. His favorite hunting lodge was his caboose which he towed from Rhode Island and placed on rails on his little piece of Maine. He restored that Maine Central Caboose and added all the comforts of home.

Bob was the consummate handyman and horseman. Bob and his wife of 47 years Sonja who passed away last year, renovated adjacent homes with acreage in Tewksbury where they boarded their horses. Bob loved looking out on his porch at the horses, the numerous deer, the turkeys and the occasional fox. Bob and Sonja were heavily involved in the Granite State Carriage Association where Sonja served as President. Bob and Sonja spent many a weekend participating in Trail Rides with their horses throughout New England. The highlight of their equestrian career was their week-long trail ride through Sonja’s childhood homeland in Bavaria Germany.

Bob is also predeceased by his brothers Ernest (Bishop) and Francis Cahill. He is survived by his brother, John Cahill, sister Theresa Wrenn, brother-in-law Victor Young and numerous nieces and nephews residing in Massachusetts, Virginia, Texas, North Carolina and New Hampshire.
