Anthony J. Pinto, 80, of Fairhaven passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 4, 2022 at Care One New Bedford from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Antone and Mary (McQuade) Pinto.
Anthony worked as an automobile buyer and salesman for most of his life. He had owned and operated A.J. Auto Corral in Dartmouth. He was also very knowledgeable about antiques and had owned an antique shop “Hidden Treasures” in Florida.
During the Vietnam War, he served honorably in the U.S. Army Special Forces.
Anthony loved his family and took pride in all of their accomplishments. He enjoyed vacationing and spending winters in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his loving companion of 21 years, Betsy Pye of Fairhaven; his son Darrin Pinto and his wife Kristy of Acushnet; his sister, Maureen Pinto Dusoe of Dartmouth; his grandchildren, Erica, Brittany, Kaydin, Kole, Audrey, Blair, Caleb, and Amelia; and his nieces, Brooke and Ava.
He was predeceased by his son, Scott Pinto.
A private Funeral Mass was held on Tuesday morning October 18th at St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven. Burial with military honors followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
