Bruce Eric Pestilli, 79, of Whitman, MA, died on October 13th at the Brockton Hospital.
Born in Quincy, MA, in 1943, son of Vinicio and Columba (Danubio) Pestilli, an Army veteran, and a graduate of Quincy High School.
He was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Andrews) Pestilli. Bruce is survived by his son, Craig, his wife Carol, his grandchildren Katey and Maria Pestilli, his sister Regina Pestilli, brother Vincent Pestilli and his wife Linda, brother Dennis Pestilli and his wife Lynda, brother Anthony Pestilli and his wife Doris, and his sister Rose Pestilli and her partner Deb Johnson, his beloved nieces and nephews, his amazing gang of cousins who enriched his life, his dear friends Paul and Linda Robinson, his dear friends the Parry family, and so many more people who called him friend.
Bruce was extremely well known throughout Whitman and the surrounding area as “the photographer”. Hundreds of weddings, thousands of senior portraits, and an incalculable amount of sports teams photos bear the imprint of Pestilli Studio. “Do you have your envelope?” became his signature expression.
Bruce loved life in all of its flavors. Bruce loved to spend time with his family and cousins, entertaining them all with his humor and mischievous ways. Bruce enjoyed the theater, especially musicals, writing his books, and the bright lights of Foxwoods and Atlantic City. Bruce will be remembered as a one in a million character with a big smile and bigger heart.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Tuesday October 18 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman and his funeral service on Wednesday October 19 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel. Burial will follow the in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman.
