Virginia Dare Walker Young, 80, of Tifton died Monday, May 22, 2006 at Tift Health Care. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. O.L. Stokes, Rev. Eddie Hutcheson and Rev. Herman Walker will officiate with a private burial at a later date.
Ms. Young was born on February 11, 1926 in Tift County and was the daughter of John C. Walker and Amanda Drawdy, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers. She was retired from J.P. Stephens as a spinner and was a member of Tifton's First Assembly of God.
Ms. Young is survived by her husband, Julius D. Young of Tifton; two sons, Reggie L. Young of Tifton and Robby Young and his girlfriend, Patty Cooksey, both of Tifton; five brothers, Ronald Walker of Lenox, L.A. Walker of Alabama, Wayne Walker of North Carolina, Carlos Walker of Lakeland, Florida and Roger Walker of Lakeland, Florida; three sisters, Irene Cox of Tifton, Ressie Walker of Lakeland, Florida and Sherry Powers of Lakeland, Florida; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
