Obituary

Martha Eugenia Peele Groselle, 83, of Eldorado died Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at The Orchard at Stone Creek Assisted Living Community in Hahira, Georgia. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Union Grove Church of God in Eldorado with the Reverends Ray Dawson and A.D. Connell officiating. Mrs. Groselle will be laid to rest next to her loving husband at Union Grove Cemetery. She will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mark Peele, Gerald Peele, Shannon Dorman, Billy Crumley, Danny Crumley, Joe Crumley, and Roger Blanchett will serve as pallbearers.

Born November 9, 1938, in Lenox, Georgia, Mrs. Groselle was an original American beauty. She was the daughter of the late William Harold Peele and Mattie Maude Margaret Shannon Peele. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Edward Groselle, Sr., who she loved and cared for; and two brothers, Billy Peele and Ray Peele. She attended P. K. Yonge Preparatory School of the University of Florida. She was a homemaker and the loving wife of her husband Danny an engineer and farmer. She was a member of Union Grove Church of God. She was lovingly cared for at The Orchard at Stone Creek Assisted Living Community built for her in memory of her husband. She was known for baking, especially her decadent 13-layer chocolate cakes and had a great sense of humor. She took gardening to the next level and made sure no one in her community went without. She had a passionate love for her family and taught them the love of God, the rewards of hard work and the importance of caring for others. She was a prayer warrior and often sought out by those in need. Martha encouraged her children and grandchildren to be bold, have big dreams and be of strong character.

Mrs. Groselle is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Kristina Groselle of Macon; three daughters and one son-in-law, Dorothy Groselle of Nashville, Tennessee, Martha and Fred McGill and Margaret Groselle, all of Hahira; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Florence Crumley and Wilda and Tommy Dorman, all of Eldorado; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Jim and Jacie Mixon, Kerri and Josh McAfee, Daniel Groselle, Savannah Groselle, Christian Groselle, Mary McGill, Megan McGill, Steven Bernstein, Lee and Brook McGill, Fred and Shannon McGill, Allison and Pablo Ripoll and Fox Bennett; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Orchard at Stone Creek Assisted Living for their loving care of Mrs. Groselle. She was known there as the Queen of the Orchard and will be greatly missed.
