Jose A. Carapeta, age 58, passed away on Oct. 1, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13, 1964 in Cova da Piedade, Portugal, a son of the late Luis and Fatima (Pardal) Carapeta. Jose was a man of few words but so much wisdom. He always had a silly joke to say or profound advice to be shared. Nothing made him prouder or smile brighter than when he talked about his family. He was adored by everyone who knew him and the memories he leaves behind will be endlessly cherished. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Alexandra (Fevereiro) Carapeta of Chicopee; two daughters, Ines Burek and her husband Adam of Chicopee and Sofia Leavitt and her husband Tyler of Maine; one brother, Luis Carapeta and his wife Maria Joao of Portugal; two beloved grandchildren along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Services will be held Saturday October 8, at 11:00 AM in Ste. Rose de Lima Catholic Church, 600 Grattan St in Chicopee. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
