New Bedford - Jane Perry, of Dartmouth, MA, passed away at St. Lukes Hospital surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 78. She was the beloved wife of Thomas (“Tom”) H. Perry.
Jane was born in New Bedford, MA, and was one of three daughters of Mary (Gawron) Mello and Leo Mello.
Jane is survived by her husband Tom, her daughter Sandra J. Manning and her husband Richard J. Manning Jr., and her son Thomas H. Perry, and his wife Joselyn Perry. She was the proud grandmother of Brendan Manning and his wife Drea Manning, Devon Perry, Ryan Manning and Cody Perry. Jane was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Camden Manning and Kenley Manning. Jane was also survived by her sister, Leona Braley and her husband Wayne Braley, and her sister-in-law and dear friend, Jeannine Perry, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Miguel, her brother-in-law John Miguel, and her brother-in-law, William J. Perry.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Perry Funeral Home, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral will take place on Thursday at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 230 Bonney Street, New Bedford, MA, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place immediately following Mass at Rural Cemetery, 149 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Senior Center, or the Dartmouth Council on Aging.
