SPENCER___Janice L. (Ransome) Field, 70, of Spencer passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday September 28, 2022 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave North, Worcester.
Janice is survived by her brother John T. Ransome, Jr., of Spencer and her children, Tammy L. Tibbetts and her husband, Jeff Tibbetts of Auburn; Dawn M. Desmarais and her husband, Jason Desmarais of Framingham and Matthew D. Field of Spencer; five grandchildren, Ryan Tibbetts and his wife Liz Tibbetts, Brandon Tibbetts, Ashley Berry, Nicholas Jaynes and Christopher Jaynes, two great-grandchildren, Logan Ducharme and Twyla Tibbetts, and many cousins including two dear cousins, Melissa and Amanda Fort. Janice was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late John Ransom Sr., and Myrtle (Hodgerney) Ransome. Janice was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade High School, Worcester.
Janice Was a skilled seamstress and worked for Marcus’ and Something Special Bridal Shop. She also worked as a day care provider for a time. In addition to being an accomplished seamstress Janice enjoyed knitting, crocheting and craft fairs. Janice loved going to the beach and apple orchards.
The remembrance gathering to honor Janice will be held on Thursday October 6, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in HENRY – DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester. Interment will be in the Cookshire Cemetery, Sterling on Friday October 7, 2022. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 2pm-5pm at the American Legion 175 Main St #138, Spencer, MA 01562.
