Obituary

Michael J. Koumarianos, 78, long time resident of West Roxbury, MA and US Army Veteran, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 29, 2022. Born and raised in Boston, and preceded in death by his parents James Koumarianos and Helen Koumarianos (Houpis). Married 51 years to his loving wife, Catherine “Dolly” Koumarianos (Coulouris). Proud father of James Koumarianos, of Danvers, MA with his wife Laura and Elena Moreira, of Hamilton, MA with her husband Germano. Michael loved nothing more than his four grandchildren- Kyla and Zoe Koumarianos and Andreas and Lukas Moreira.

Michael enjoyed his retirement from the Department of Revenue by spending time with family, going to his favorite spots in West Roxbury, and sitting on the deck listening to the Red Sox. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him including his sister Dee Makredes of Westwood, MA, sister in law Joyce Petros of Roslindale, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St. West Roxbury on Tuesday October 4, 2022 from 4:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Parker and Ruggles Street, Boston at 11 o’clock. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment at The Gardens at Gethsemane, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Michael J Fox Foundation For Parkinson’s Research at michaeljfox.org
