Bruce Thomas Murray
... formerly of Tewksbury, former Chef and sports specialist; 39
SURF SIDE BEACH, S.C. - Bruce Thomas Murray, age 39, a specialist in sports memorabilia,
died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16.
He was born in Boston, on August 23, 1966, the son of the late Thomas and Elsie (DuBois)
Murray, and had lived in Tewksbury for more than 30 years. He graduated from Shawsheen
Valley Technical High School’s culinary program and worked in area restaurants throughout his
life. He moved to the Myrtle Beach area four years ago.
He turned his hobby and passion for professional sports into his occupation, and left the
restaurant business to become an employee of Baseball 17 in Myrtle Beach, a collectable and
sports memorabilia store. Even though he had left New England, he retained his passion for
Boston’s professional sports, especially the Red Sox.
He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cheryl Lockhart and her husband Robert of
Nashua, NH, Lynn Laroche and her husband Dennis of Hampstead, NH; four nieces and nephews,
Korey Cadigan, Jay and Alexis Lockhart all of Nashua, and Chad Laroche of Hampstead.

A Memorial Service will be Wednesday evening, May 24, in the funeral
