Obituary

Dorothy Ann (Kairit) Mailhiot, 88, of Medway formerly of Franklin, died suddenly September 28 in the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, just 3 days after celebrating her Birthday with family and friends. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 64 years, Joseph A Mailhiot.

Born in Milford, September 25, 1934, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Mary (Ghelli) Kairit, Mrs. Mailhiot was raised in Holliston and had lived in Franklin for 42 years where she raised her family.

Dorothy was a graduate of Holliston High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader, but her active life style didn't end there. She gave back to her community as Ms. Claus during the holidays, enjoyed playing golf and crocheting.

Dorothy spent the first 20 years of her marriage as a stay-at-home mother and then went on to work at Rico’s Supermarket and then the Zymark Company

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. Willing to travel miles to just do a "pop in". She loved to escape the New England winters by soaking up the sun in Ft. Myers, Florida. But was always up for the next adventure.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Wendy Clougherty of Medway, Joseph Mailhiot of Franklin and Lisa Bergstrom and her husband David of Palm Springs, California, and son-in law, Paul Gadjarik of Bradenton, Florida.
She is predeceased by son and daugter Andre Maihiot and Michelle Gadjarik.

Dorothy is also survived by her sister Donna Despault and husband, Alan Despault of Middleboro, and was the sister of the late Elinor M. Sheehan of Medway, and Alfred Kairit and sister-in-law, Virginia Kairit of Medway.

Dorothy is also survived by her 9 grandchildren; Derek, Ericka, Andrea, Kristen, Nathan, Andy, Rachelle, Madison and Cairan. She was always excited to share all their accomplishments as they entered adulthood.

She adored her 3 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Blake, and Ryder (AKA her "little poops") She enjoyed watching them play sports and spoiling them at home.

With an infectious laugh, amazing heart, competitive spirit and best cappelletti recipe around, she will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8 in the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (http://www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)
3 Barber Street, Medway from 11:00-1:00p.m.

A service will be held at 1 :00p.m. in the funeral home.
