Ronnie Eastman Powell, 45, of Tifton passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2022, while working in Tampa, Florida as a Foreman with Kearney-Management. A private viewing for the immediate family will be held with a celebration of life memorial being held for family and friends at a later-date.
Born August 14, 1977, in Ashburn, he was the son of Charles R. (Toby) Powell and Frances Powell of Tifton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marvin E. Powell and Sybil Williams Powell of Tifton; Roy E. Mathis and Dolly Combass Mathis of Mayo, Florida; two aunts, JoAnn H. Tucker (Tifton) and Nannie Lou Hall (Ocilla); four uncles, Johnny Powell (Tifton), Willie Jeff Elmore (Florida), Roy Wimbley (Florida), and David Underwood (Florida); and a sister-in-law, Carol Ivey Griffin (Tifton).
He is survived in addition to his parents by two brothers, Steve Griffin (Tifton) and Donnie Griffin, (Wanda) (Moultrie), his sister, Judy Napier (Tifton), two aunts, Samantha Elmore (FL) and Lillian Underwood (FL), one uncle, Lawrence Tucker (Tifton), his much-loved puppy, Lucy, best friend Albert Owens (Ocilla), as well as numerous friends that he loved like brothers & sisters and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
After Ronnie attended Tift County schools, he went on to study at Middle Georgia Technical College. Ronnie was an avid artist, loved playing his guitar, loved animals, fishing, hunting, riding dirt roads, and spending time with his friends and family. Ronnie was always the life of the party and lived life to the fullest. He loved to talk and never met a stranger. You never had to wonder what Ronnie was thinking because he didn't have a problem telling you what he thought and his opinion. Right or wrong he called it like he saw it and told you so. Ronnie loved working with heavy equipment and made sure he was one of the best at doing it. He was excited to start a new chapter in his life with his new job and move to Tampa recently. Ronnie will be missed by many and will forever be in our hearts.
