Obituary

Carl A. Jacobson, 95, of Naples, Florida, formerly of Worcester, MA died on September 29, 2022. He is survived by his daughters Suzanne Cortis wife of Stephen Cortis of Falmouth, MA, and Christine Joseph of Falmouth, MA. He is also survived by grandchildren Kyle Cortis and his wife Amy Cortis , Kristen Lanier and her husband Matthew Lanier, Nicole Joseph, and Allison Joseph, and three great grandchildren. He also leaves his long-time companion Georgie Sands. He was predeceased by his wife Dolores (Dolan) Jacobson and by a sister May Jacobson.

Carl was born in Worcester, MA, son of Carl H. and Ingeborg (Larsson) Jacobson. He graduated from North High School in Worcester and, after serving in the US Navy, attended Brown University. He spent five years as a trooper in the Massachusetts State Police before joining State Mutual of America as a claims examiner. He retired as Director of Employment and Employee Relations.

Mr. Jacobson was an active member in St. Michael's on the Heights Episcopal Church, Worcester, serving on the vestry and finance committees. After moving to Florida, he became a communicant of St. John's Church in Naples, FL. In his early days, dad was frequently seen spending time on the beach relaxing with family, fishing, and clamming. He loved going to Brown football games and to all his daughters' sports games.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 9:00- 10:00 a.m. in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A memorial service will follow at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Cemetery in West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carl's memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association. (www.jdrf.org). He will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will all miss his sense of humor, kindness, and loving devotion to family and friends. Rest in Peace "Pop Pop".
