Eugene C. Pinto, 77, of New Bedford, died Sunday, September 25, 2022 after a long illness. He was the former husband of Lynne (Rocha) Rucker.
Born in Nantucket, son of the late Eugene and Gertrude (Lopes) Pinto, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Eugene loved basketball, fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Association and Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Eugene served proudly in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son, Eugene Pinto, Jr. and his wife Natasha Williams-Pinto of Renton, WA; his daughter Karyn Pinto of Auburn, WA; his grandchildren, Aaron Pinto, Aanya Williams, Angelia Pinto and Brayden Pinto; his great-grandchildren, NaRae' Pinto and Marlie Jean Pinto; his life long friend Cynthia Edwards; and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his brothers, John, Caesar, and Steven Pinto.
Eugene's visiting hours will be Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 9 to 10:45 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals. A service in the funeral home will take place at 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
