John M. Stables Jr of Canton passed away September 23rd at the VA Hospital in W. Roxbury. Born in Oakland, CA he was raised in Alaska and graduated from Juneau Douglas High School in Juneau. After graduating he went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp as a Staff Sergeant. John worked as a Truck Driver for the Melton Corp in Oklahoma for many years before retiring. John enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking, traveling and hosting cookouts.
Beloved husband of Laurie E. Stables (Melchin). Father of Maria Lindholm and her husband Heath of Woonsocket, RI and Jennifer Cornelius and her husband Brian of FL. Grandfather of Bruce Lindholm. Brother of David, Rick, and Larry Stables. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial private.
