Obituary

Johnny Ray Eaton, 77, of Nashville passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Marvin Williams officiating. Mr. Eaton will be laid to rest at Oakey Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Berrien County. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Todd Wilkerson, Corey Wilkerson, J. D. Eaton, Hunter Eaton, Hayden Luke and Landon Poitra will serve as pallbearers.

Born October 1, 1944, in Berrien County, Mr. Eaton was the son of the late John B. Eaton and Nellie Golden Eaton. He was also preceded in death by one son, Dewayne Mathis; one brother, James Franklin “Frank” Eaton; and one sister, Kathy Wilkerson. He was a retired truck driver and he was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved his family and spending time with them and he loved his dog, Heidi.

Mr. Eaton is survived by his wife, Pamela L. Pilger Eaton of Nashville; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Wade and Paula Eaton and Eric Eaton, all of Nashville and Johnathon Stringer of Auburndale, Florida; three daughters and one son-in-law, Tonya Luke of Ray City, Leslie Pitts of Tifton and Stacy and Sheldon Poitra of Dawsonville; sixteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
