Alma E. (Gastonguay) Gallo, 92, of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at her home, with her family by her side following a brief illness. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Irene (Levesque) Gastonguay.
A hard worker and woman of many talents, Alma worked various occupations, including factory worker, waitress, cook, restaurant manager, and caregiver. Her final and most fulfilling job was coin and food stamp supervisor at Wells Fargo.
Alma was an avid bowler; she bowled for the St. Adelaide Bowling League and several other leagues. She enjoyed her casino trips and her favorite Cashword Lottery Ticket.She loved playing Scrabble, Michigan Rummy, and various card games with her family and close friends.
Alma was the heart and soul of her family. She had an extraordinarily generous heart; her greatest joy was in sharing whatever she had with others. She had a MAXINE sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to put a funny spin on any situation. Alma bestowed upon her family many important life lessons, such as the importance of humility, and spending your money wisely. Most importantly, Alma demonstrated the value of simple living; to be content with what you have been blessed with, and to make the most out of it.
She is survived by her daughters; Janice L. Sacharczyk and husband Steven, of Wakefield and, Joyce L. Kerivan and husband Wayne of Peabody, she was Memere to four grandchildren; Amy and Michael S. Sacharczyk both of Lynn, John P. Sacharczyk of Wakefield, Ryan F. Kerivan of Peabody as well as Grand Memere to twogreat-grandchildren Cameron J. and Ella G. Sacharczyk. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her long time friends Lucille Gagne and Patricia LeBlanc. She was predeceased by her former husbands, Chester P. Szczawinski and Nicholas T. Gallo, her brother, Wilfred Gastonguay and sister, Theresa Gagne.
Relatives and friends are invited to an hour of visitation on Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in St. Mary Church, 8 South Common Street, Lynn, to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in church at 11:00 AM. Her burial, at a later date, will be private.
