Obituary

Janina Wanda Goroch age 100, entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, Sept 20,2022 at her farm in Prosser. She was born June 10, 1922 in Pinsk, Poland to Jan and Stanislawa. She married Chester Goroch, her husband of 73 years, on December 26, 1944 in Pinsk, Poland and the couple had 3 children together, Andy, John and Donna.
During WW2 Chester and Jane were in the Warsaw insurrection in 1944, and then they were taken to labor camps in Germany. After the war Chester received an engineering degree in Munich and the family moved to Toronto, Canada and then Seattle, Washington where Chester at Boeing for 15 years. Jane received a degree in early childhood education. Jane was active in the Polish Home Association and enjoyed playing bridge, dancing and camping. She was also an exceptionally good cook and seamstress. Jane was famous for her fancy cakes and pastries. She had beautiful roses and delicious fruit and vegetables in her gardens. Thirty-seven years ago the family came to the Yakima Valley where they lived and worked on their farm in Prosser. They loved the river, the valley and the mountains. Jane was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and was very loving, warm and generous with her husband, family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs. Janina is survived by her children, John and Donna; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. We are especially grateful to Tomasa Laran, Jane and Chester's caregiver, for her many years of
dedicated, professional and caring help in their final years. We appreciate her kindness, caring and being so compassionate and respectful with them. Memorial Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
