On Wednesday morning, August 24th 2022, Kathleen Billingsley-Crawford-Easterly passed away very suddenly in Prosser surrounded by her family and some of her closest friends.
Kathy was born 1/24/47 in Santa Paula, California to Clyde and Melba Billingsley. She was the oldest of her siblings, sister, Kristine Varble and brother, Wes Hodges.
She grew up in Moorpark, California where she had many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She had a tremendous love of horses and a good manure fight. She loved growing up in California, spending her time with her gal pals at the beach, cruising in her VW bug, and riding horses at the ranch every chance she had. She was married to Michael Mahan on 11/30/1968 and had two beautiful children, David and Amy Mahan.
On 11/15/1985 Kathy married the love of her life Jim Easterly (married over 36 years). They purchased a 5 acre parcel of land on the Yakima river where they would begin their lives together making it as close to paradise as possible. Shortly after they were surprised with their baby girl, Kaylee Easterly. When Jim and Kathy weren’t working on their home or in the garden they were enjoying their time in the mountains, going on little road trips, and grabbing a bite to eat along the way. But Nothing gave her more joy than being with her family.
From the early age of 14, Kathy longed for a relationship with her Heavenly Father. After many years of research she was baptized as one of Jehovahs Witnesses on 4/15/2007. She loved reading her bible daily and sharing her paradise hope with everyone she came in contact with.
She has a sign she hung in her house that reads “an old bear lives here with his honey”. It’s funny to think of now as every sincere sentence began with “well honey” and a pat on the back. She was the kindest, soft spoken, most gentle person, and truly was sweet as honey. Many people have shared how loved and special she made them feel. She always cared about others more than herself. She knew how to make you feel loved and how special each person was to her.
She is survived by her husband Jim; her three children, David (Tami) Mahan of Tri-Cities WA, Amy (Derek) Shook of Prosser, and Kaylee (Gerald) Swan of Prosser; Jim’s children who she loved as her own, Paula (Shawn) Teevin of Vancouver Wa. son, Jimmy (Adena) Easterly of Cool CA. son, Joey (Tonia) Easterly of Tigard OR. and, Saralyn (Justin) Door of Selah Wa. She is also survived by her sister, Kristine (Marty) Varble of Camarillo CA and her brother, Wes (Laura) Hodges of Tri-Cities WA. She was Grandma Kathy to 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
