Obituary

Sara Salazar, 43, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. Sara is survived by her loving husband, Osman Zelaya, her sons, Adrian and Adriel Zelaya, her parents Diego and Reyna Salazar, and her brother and sister, Gabriel and Saira Salazar. Sara earned a Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing Communication, a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, and was a Licensed Cosmetologist.

The world lost a beautiful person. There was not anything better than to see Sara’s beaming face when she spoke of her boys. She brought pure joy to everything she did. Her smile could light up a whole room. Sara was unafraid to take on challenges, offer solutions and step out of her comfort zone – particularly if it meant helping her family and others. Sara was a woman of faith and family. These bonds were her strength, kept her strong and provided comfort for her courageous battle against Stage 4 Leiomyosarcoma, which she described as a very scary and rare type of cancer.

Sadly, Sara was not able to fulfill her dream to see her two boys become men and be successful in life. Yet, with Sara’s DNA, we are confident her sons will honor their mother’s life in how they live and treat others.
