Obituary

DUDLEY – Evelyn V. (Kozlowski) Nieszczezewski, 86, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 surrounded by the love of her family, in the Rose Monhan Hospice in Worcester after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her husband of 46 years, Bernard L. Nieszczezewski, died in 2004.

She leaves 2 daughters, Catherine and her husband John P. Preissler of Dudley, and Joan and her husband Robert Gerhard of Halifax, MA; a son, Robert and his wife Jessica Nieszczezewski of Hebron, CT; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Pauline M. Sroczynski in 2021 and by her sister Elizabeth D. Scheyd in 2022.

She was born on June 19, 1936 in Webster and raised in Dudley, a daughter of Ignatius “Monty” Kozlowski and Monica (Serwa) Kozlowski. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1953.

Mrs. Nieszczezewski worked as a secretary for the Perkins Press before working in requisitions at Nichols College for over 30 years retiring in 2016.

Evelyn was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and a lector at Mass. She was a long-time member of the Holy Rosary Sodality. She worked at the church festivals every year, and volunteered for the church’s bingo from its inception, and donated her time and talent for various parish activites. An avid quilt maker, she lovingly made quilts for her family, and also donated many quilts for the church festivals and sodality bazaars. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening and baking, above all, Evelyn treasured the time she spent with her family.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, September 27, from the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street, Dudley. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 26, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
