Jeannette (Hovey) White, 87, died Friday in North Adams Regional Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Frederick White.
Born in Copake, New York, daughter of Frederick and Mabel (Euber) Hovey
Jeannette was raised in Whitman a graduate of Whitman schools. She also attended New England Art School of Boston and Boston Girls Trade.
She lived in Whitman for many years, there she enjoyed gardening, houseplants and the cats in her back yard, and taking care of her family and “all” the children.
She is survived by her 8 children Richard White of Tennessee, John White of Franklin, Robert White of East Bridgewater, Frederick White, Jr. of Whitman, Bessie Tinkham of Pittsfield, Rose Scott of Plymouth, Joan White of Vermont, Jane White of North Adams; also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, She was also the sister of the late Thomas and Richard Hovey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 23th at 11:00 A.M. in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, and (Route 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Visiting hours Monday May 22nd 4-8 .Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Plympton MA. Donations may be made in her name to the American Diabetes, 330 Congress St., Boston, Ma.
