Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Colman Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday 4-8pm.
Obituary Information
Mr. LaBate died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at the Brockton Hospital. He was born, raised and educated in Brockton, and had been a lifelong resident. He was a son of Louis J. and Gladys (Reardon) LaBate. He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Missouri. He had been employed by the City of Brockton for 39 years. Mr. LaBate enjoyed hunting, and field and trial dogs. He was also active in showing poultry at local fairs. He was a member of the Carver Sportsmans Club, a life member of the Beaverbrook Beagle Club, Tri County Beagle Club, Pasquamasette Beagle Club, New England Bantum Club, the Conte Memorial Club, Polish White Eagles Club and Club National.
He is survived by his wife Pat, 2 sons, Louis III of Lakeville, James of Middleboro, 4 daughters Linda of Greenbush Maine, Theresa, Donna and Laura of Brockton, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of Marie Silva of Brockton and Francis LaBate of E. Falmouth.
