Obituary

Betty Sue Majeski, 67, of Tifton passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Harborview Nursing Center in Tifton. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with Chaplain Raymond Andrews officiating. Ms. Majeski will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Hank Majeski, Curt Majeski, Brock Jones, Jacob Jones, Shane Martin, Walker O’Rear and Stuart Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ms. Majeski’s sisters-in-law, Jan Majeski and Connie Majeski as well as her lifelong friend, Denise Harper Sauls and Jennie Bassett.

Born December 5, 1954, in Athens, Ms. Majeski was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Majeski, Sr. and Sara Davis Majeski. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Chuck Majeski; and a great-nephew, Bo Henry Majeski. She graduated from Tift County High School in 1972 and received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Valdosta State University. She was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed Sunday School throughout her life and lived the majority of her life in Tifton. She truly loved her family and friends, giving to others, music and laughter. Her thoughtfulness and humor will never be forgotten.

Ms. Majeski is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dottie and John Bassett and Beth and Dennis Daniel, all of Tifton. She especially loved her nieces and nephews and their spouses, Hank and Tanya Majeski of Valdosta, Brittany and Brock Jones and Elizabeth and Shane Martin, all of Tifton, Curt and Lindsay Majeski of Leesburg, Daisy and Stuart Taylor of Hahira and Taylor and Blake Pittman of Thomasville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to thank Homestead Hospice and her nurse, Ashlee, for their love and care of Ms. Majeski.
