Salem
Noella R. (Boucher) LaChance, 92, a former resident of Salem, passed away at The Lafayette in Marblehead on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was the loving wife of the late Francis A. LaChance with whom she had shared forty one years of marriage.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph O. and Marie-Louise (Paquette) Boucher. She and Francis married in 1951 and were the proud parents of eight children. They devoted early married years to the raising of their young family. In her later years, Noella was employed as a sales clerk for the former Rich’s Department Store in Salem
A quiet homemaker, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing. She loved card games with her family, extended family and close friends. She was a member of St. James Parish, Salem for many years.
She is survived by seven children: Paul F. LaChance of Arizona, Eileen M. Shambough of Salem, Gerard F. LaChance of Peabody, Louise A. Farnum and husband Norman of Greenfield, Theresa A. Cronan and husband Kevin of Danvers, David M. LaChance and wife Maureen of Salisbury, Roland P. LaChance and wife Donna of Lynn as well as fifteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter Catherine LaChance, seven brothers; Paul, Marshall, Edgar, Jean, Raymond, George & Richard Boucher and sisters, Madeleine Michaud and Irene Provost.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 8:30 to 10:30 to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. James Church, 156 Federal St., Salem at 11:00 AM. Protective masks are optional. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
