Obituary

CHICOPEE – Keith R. Fontaine, 60, of the Sandy Hill section of Chicopee, was Called Home on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Holyoke on September 28, 1961, a beloved son of Roger C. Fontaine of Chicopee and the late Jeanne F. (Fleury) Fontaine who was Called Home on April 21, 2018. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had lived in Chicopee his entire life. He was employed at Fountain Plating in West Springfield for many years. He was an avid automobile and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed cruising and attending car shows with his 1934 Ford Three Window Coupe Replica. He also enjoyed being outdoors and camping. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Christine G. (Messier) Fontaine. They were married on September 14, 2013 in Granville and were blessed with many years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving children, Scott R. Fontaine and Taylor M. Fontaine, both of Chicopee; his two loving step children, Nina M. Leclerc and her fiancé, Daniel Lewandowski, of Ludlow and Wade E. Leclerc of West Springfield; his two cherished grandsons, Gabriel Alexandre Fontaine and Remy Lucas Fontaine; his three dear siblings, Shirley J. Burton and her husband, Wayne, of Chicopee, Steven W. Fontaine and his partner, Paulo Aguiar, of Lilburn, GA and Kathy A. Cote and her husband, Richard, of Chicopee; his dear sister in law, Diane Y. Perusse and her husband, Mark, of Chicopee; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. He will also be deeply missed by his beloved canine companion, his dog Sophie. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his beloved mother in law, Marielle C. (Poulin) Messier and his many canine companions. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10:30 a.m.). His Burial will follow the Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
