Obituary

Kathleen M. (Gomes) Coleman, 84, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2022 at Nevins Nursing Home in Methuen, surrounded by her loving family.

The youngest of nine children to the late Manuel and the late Frances (Dyskevich) Gomes, she was born on March 6, 1938, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in the Lowell School System before attending Lowell Commercial College.

She worked as an Executive Secretary for many years, but mostly worked as an Insurance Agent in the area. An accomplished ballroom dancer as well as a ballroom dance teacher, she also loved to sing and was a member of Saint Peter’s Church Choir and the Lowell Opera Company. She also enjoyed writing poetry and loved animals.

Kathleen was member of the former St. Peter’s Parish before it closed, she had grown up in St. Anthony’s Parish, and more recently attended Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Shrine in Downtown Lowell.

Her survivors include her daughters, Cheryle Caputo and her husband, Kenneth, and Monica Mackey; her grandchildren, Christopher Caputo and his wife, Amandha, Samantha Caputo, Lindsay Kayata and her husband, Gerard, Meagan Daigle, Derek Daigle and his wife, Jess, Alexy Daigle, Nina Daigle, Zach Coleman and his wife, Danielle, Jade Mackey, and Karina Mackey; her great grandchildren, Alexandria, Richie, Corey, Ava, Jackson and Peyton; her sister, Frances Ricard and her husband, Roderick, as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews

She was also the mother of the late Colleen Daigle, grandmother of the late Savannah Daigle, and she was predeceased by seven of her siblings.

Her funeral will be held privately from the MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 Highland Street, Lowell 978-458-6816.
