LOWELL—Antoinette ‘Janet’ (Capra) Manning, 92 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died early Thursday morning, May 18th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of the late William ‘Bill’ Manning.
She was born in Lowell on December 4, 1913, a daughter of the late John B. and Francesca (Quallorto) Capra. She received her education in the Lowell School System.
Mrs. Manning had been employed for over 20 years by Anton Cleaners, in Lowell. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking with her sister Terry and sharing the food with friends and family.
Surviving her are two daughters and a son-in-law: Jane Barnes, of Lowell; and Beverly and Larry Cavanaugh, of Tewksbury; one sister: Theresa Benedict; five grandchildren: Wallace ‘Bucky’ Barnes, and his wife Roberta, of Pelham, NH; Cheryl Barnes, of Haverhill; Larry and Sharyn Cavanaugh, of Lowell; Karen and Ray Espinola, of Lowell; Donna and John Rafferty, of Lowell; 12 great grandchildren: Meaghan, Kristen, Matthew, Chelsea, Michael, Katie, Bridget, Jake, Garret, Kyle, Alec, and Julia; also several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John F. Capra, Jr. and Peter Capra.
Friends may call from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on Saturday, May 20th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith St. (Rte.38), Lowell. Her Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in the Lowell Cemetery.
