Kenneth Frederick MacIver, Jr. of Melrose formerly of Winchester died Aug. 31, 2022 at Lahey Clinic, Burlington. Beloved husband of Jinanne “Nan” Elder (Jens). Born in Concord, MA to the late Kenneth F. Sr. and Dolores G. (Ahman) MacIver. Brother of Brian MacIver of Lexington and the late Peter MacIver. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ken was a member of the Burlington High Class of 1961 where he was a varsity athlete and served as his class President. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he met his roommate, David Kennedy, who became his lifelong best friend. Kenny served his country as a Naval Officer, serving aboard the USS Wasp. He received his law degree from Boston University School of Law. Ken was the Executive Director of Merrimack Legal Services for 15 years, where he provided free legal aid to low income and elderly residents of Essex and Middlesex Counties. Kenny was passionate about his professional mission to represent the marginalized and those in need. He loved the Red Sox, Celtics and spending summers in Georgetown, ME. Funeral services are private.
