Charles Philip "Charlie" Barsanti

CORNISH- Charles Philip "Charlie" Barsanti, 75, passed away peacefully at his home on August 28th, 2022 surrounded by loved ones after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Charlie was born in Portland, Maine on October 5th, 1946, a son of the late Alfred and Beatrice Barsanti. After high school graduation in 1964 Charlie joined the Navy, stationed in Newport News, VA. Charlie served on the USS Grant County until 1966. While in the Navy Charlie married the late Pamela Jean Day of Cornish, Maine. Having two children, Dori and Kelly. After discharge from the Navy Charlie worked for Noyes Tire in Westbrook, ME. Charlie married Terry Leonhartt in 1979, and her two children, Duane and Andy. Charlie and Terry had two more children, Bobbi and Philip. In 1981 Charlie, Terry and family moved to Sacramento, CA then to Stockton, CA. Charlie worked at Goodyear Tire moving up to manager, after that he became manager at Winston Tire until 1993. In 1993 Charlie went to school to become a truck driver, driving for Werner Enterprises until moving to Cornish, ME with Vivian Dustin in 2001. After moving back to Maine, Charlie drove truck for Currier Trucking until his retirement in 2011.
Charlie enjoyed watching Nascar races, playing cards, trips to the casino, spending time with family, and “supervising” at Tink’s Garage. Charlie recently enjoyed a family trip to Wyoming for his granddaughter Savannah’s wedding in July 2022.
Charlie is predeceased by his son, Charles Philip Barsanti Jr., 1968.
Charlie is survived by longtime partner Vivian Dustin of Cornish, ME. Children, daughter, Dori Barsanti of Westbrook, ME, daughter, Kelly Brophy and husband Brian of Lockeford, CA, bonus son, Cesar Avery and wife Kerry of New York, NY, son, Duane Avery and fiancé Tiffany Chapman of Porter, ME, daughter, Andy Hitchcock and husband Mike of Eugene, OR, daughter, Bobbi Dikeman and husband Tony of West Baldwin, ME, son, Philip and wife Jeni of Porter, ME. Fourteen grandchildren, Ricky, Savannah, Dylan, Brylee, Keean, Malcolm, Kellan, Avery, Austin, Emma, Owen, Arianna, Andrew and Charles. Also, many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Bobbi’s house on Saturday September 10th, 2022, at 1:00pm.
