Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Emmanuel Milidakis, 95, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Selino, Crete, Greece on May 5, 1927, a beloved son of the late Antonio and Argiro (Michelakis) Milidakis. He was raised in Selino, Crete, Greece and had worked in Greece as a Police Ranger. He came to Springfield on October 1, 1971 where he lived for the remainder of his life. He was employed for many years at the Blue Eagle Restaurant and previously had worked at the A&P Bakery, both in Springfield. He was a member of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral and also was a member of the Cretan Club, both in Springfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed playing cards with his many friends and for the past 30 years he enjoyed spending the summer months in Crete. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dimitra (Stavroulakis) Milidakis. He leaves his four loving children, Georgia Lisee of Feeding Hills, Antonia Kamyk and her husband, Karl, of Wilbraham, Rula Cady of Easthampton and Peter Milidakis and his wife, Lynnette, of Agawam; his seven cherished grandchildren, Jason Lisee and his wife, Erica, Samantha Suchy and her husband, David, Nikolas Kamyk, Alaina and Jordan Cady, and Mia Katerina and Joseph Emmanuel Milidakis; his three cherished great grandchildren, Everly and John Lisee and Jackson Suchy; and his many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his two dear brothers, George and Elias Milidakis. Emmanuel will Lie in Repose on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. His burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. His Funeral Arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107.
