Obituary

Roberta “Bobbi” (Norcott) Leavitt passed away peacefully on August 25, 2022 at the age of 86 after a brief illness. Bobbi was born in Boston and raised in Jamaica Plain. After graduating high school, she met her husband John and the two married shortly after in 1957. They settled in South Weymouth where they raised their six children. Bobbi worked for many years as an administrative assistant. She was a parishioner and eucharistic minister at Saint Francis Xavier Church and volunteered for many years at South Shore Hospital.

Bobbi was known to be very loving, caring, kind and above all a woman of faith. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished the many family trips they took together to Cape Cod. Bobbi loved travelling to the beautiful beaches of St. Thomas, St. Kit, Aruba, and Venice, Florida. She also enjoyed many trips to California to visit her daughter. She enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing these skills and recipes with all, especially her grandchildren. She loved a good game of cards and looked forward to her Monday card games with friends. Bobbi was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed PGA golf.

Bobbi was the beloved wife of the late John Leavitt for 41 years. She was the devoted mother of Kathy Leavitt of Rockland, Joanne Peterson and her husband Charlie of Pembroke, Teresa Kotsiopoulos and her husband Philip of Taunton, John Leavitt and his wife Christine of Rockland, Gerry Leavitt and his wife Karen of East Bridgewater, and the late Elizabeth Sinclair. She was the loving grandmother to Tina, Eric, Josh, Melissa, Jillian, Lauren, Heather, Brenden, Courtney, Christopher, Michael, Ryan, Taylor, Conor, McKenzie and great grandmother to Zoey, Brooke, Emily, Allison and Quinn. She was the loving sibling of Geraldine DeLuca, William Norcott, David Norcott and the late Cora Walsh. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral mass in honor of Bobbi’s life on Monday September 12, 2022 at 10am in Saint Francis Xavier Church located at 234 Pleasant St. South Weymouth, Ma 02190. Cremation will follow with a burial at a later date in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery located in Weymouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.ALZ.org.
