OXFORD- Joyce Arlene O’Neil, age 76, passed away on Aug. 25, 2022, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
She was born in Poland, Maine on March 13, 1946, a daughter of the late Norman and Margaret (Westliegh) Larrabee.
Joyce will forever be remembered for her love of butterflies. She enjoyed collecting anything involving butterflies, from figurines to pictures. She also enjoyed housework, going for walks, hiking short trails, camping and attending outdoor music venues.
She is predeceased by her husband- Charles Edward O’Neil Sr. in 2016; and siblings- Francis and Clifford Larrabee and Lois Larrabee.
Joyce is survived by her children- Laurie Valois and her husband Charles of Oxford, Eddie O’Neil of Buxton, and Tina Raymond and her partner JJ Schulte of Rumford; siblings- Velma Strout, Ersal May, Virginia Duford, and Linda Tripp; grandchildren- TJ and Joshua Bilodeau, Jeremy Reynolds, Jessica Tibbetts, and Davie Farley; great grandchildren- Kyle Tibbetts and Theo Bilodeau; Vaida and Ethan Smith who Joyce thought of as grandchildren; one expected great grandson; her best friends- Nonie Farrington and Charlotte Landers; and her dog- Princess.
Visitation will be held on Thursday Sept. 1 from 1 -2 PM at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Home Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road (Rt. 22) in Buxton. A service will follow the visitation at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery, Huston Road, in Gorham.
