Obituary

Our mother, Anita Leblond, is celebrating her 90th birthday in Heaven after passing away in her sleep on 08/25/2022 at the age of 89. She was born on August 28, 1932 to Aime and Leonie Lareau at La Patrie, P.Q. Canada. She was the oldest sister to Mariette and Claude. She was a housekeeper for an English couple before meeting her future husband, Alphonse, through mutual friends. They met in July 1958 and were married on October 25, 1958. She moved to NH speaking very little English and took the ESL classes at a local high school.
Anita was blessed to have been able to celebrate 25 years of marriage to Alphonse and take a bus trip to Disneyland to celebrate. She became a widow in 1986 and continued to be a strong, independent, and wonderful role model to her three daughters.
She was a communicant at Ste. Marie Parish for almost 50 years. She was involved in the parish as an officer for the Ladies of St. Anne, participated in charismatic meetings, working at the annual Penny Sale and bingo games with the Ladies of St. Anne. She was also an Associate of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary.
She loved being a grandmother and enjoyed babysitting her grandsons. She would say “they are young for a short time and the housework will be there tomorrow”. They would play board games all day long, like Monopoly, Pay Day, Trouble. She very rarely won, but loved every minute spent with them.
She is predeceased by her husband, Alphonse, her parents, and brother Claude. She leaves behind her daughters, Suzelle McKenna and son-in-law Bob, Ginette Ranfos and son-in-law Jay, and Carmen Perron and son-in-law Scott. She also leaves behind grandson Craig Ranfos and his wife Beth, grandson Christopher Ranfos and his wife Melissa, grandson Damian Perron, and great grandchildren Faith, Samuel, and Rachel Ranfos. She also leaves behind her sister Mariette Marcil and brother-in-law Real and nephews Mario and Daniel Marcil, along with many nephews and nieces from the Leblond side of the family.
