Obituary

BRIGHTON, MA … Michael F. Dunphe, 80, of Taunton, MA passed away, Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
He was the widower of the love of his life Eleanor I. (Medeiros) Dunphe.
Mr. Dunphe was born in Watertown, NY a son of Milton F. and Lilias E. (Schell) Dunphe. He had lived most of his life in Taunton.
Michael retired as a machine operator specialist from Texas Instrument. He was a proud U.S Army Veteran. Michael lived to serve his country, community and his family. He dedicated his time, his love and his heart to everyone he met. He loved daily adventures, a casino trip, a walk, a bus or train ride to explore museums, parks, libraries and sightseeing. He enjoyed a good game of golf and was the proud winner of the Borges open. When he wasn’t off exploring the world, he could be found relaxing with a good book and a hot cup of tea. His most cherished moments were spent with his family. He looked forward to his weekly outings with his sister Marie and her husband Rich and he especially enjoyed every moment that he shared with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He held a special place in his heart for his “Grand Angels” and Great “Grand Angels” and he was always excited to show off his heart and balloon tattoos that represented each and every one of them. He was the founder of the Bone Head club where many of his loved ones ranked. He came in at #2. He held many titles but the most known and beloved title of all was that of Grandpa.
Survivors include 3 stepsons: Steve Borges and wife Gail of Port Charlotte, FL; Michael Borges; Ron Borges both of Taunton, MA; a stepdaughter Karen Borges of Taunton; a brother Dennis Dunphe and wife Sheila of TN; a sister Marie Perra and husband Rich of Norton;8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was the step father of the late Jay Borges, the brother of the late Lorraine S. Kavanaugh, the great grandfather of the late Zachary Borges.
Michael was a lifetime member and proud supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project. Donations in his name would greatly honor him.
A Memorial Service to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will take place at 11:30 AM on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at West Congregational Church, located at 415 Winthrop St, Taunton, MA 02780, followed by lunch in Lincoln Hall located in Taunton, MA.
