JoAnne C. Gird of Wakefield, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends after a brief illness on August 16, 2022 at age 83.
She was the wife of the late Charles W. Gird Sr. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa Paradis and her husband Mark of Tewksbury and Jodi Gird-Rodriguez of Peabody. She was predeceased by her son Anthony (Tony) Gird. Loving Nana to Mark Jr (Marie), Jordan (Lesaidy), Jessica (Javier) and Nicklas. She loved being Great Nana to Jonas, Andrew, Logan, Say and soon to be born baby boy Shai. She also leaves her devoted friends Lorraine Wyrostek, Carol Morris and Joyce and Larry Brown. She was the loving sister of Barbara Sidorowicz and Robert Siders.
She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa. She enjoyed going to Castle Island and sitting by the lake in Wakefield. She loved bargain shopping with Carol and was always happy to share her finds with family and friends. She recently went on a family cruise to Bermuda. Her favorite thing was spending time with family, especially the great grandchildren. She will forever be missed by all.
Visiting hours will be held at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston, Friday Aug 19 from 4:00-7:00P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Saturday at 10:00A.M. Interment to follow Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
