Obituary

Michael Paul Morrissey, age 60, residing in Sharon, MA, passed away on August 13th 2022.

Mike, born on September 14th, 1961, in East Lansing Michigan. He grew up in Cedar Rapids and Davenport, Iowa. After Graduating from Central High in Davenport, Mike Joined the Navy as a Fire Control Technician for 4 years on the USS Virginia cgn-38, receiving several honorary recognitions and an honorable discharge. He went on to work at Millstone Nuclear Power Plant, the Mystic Seaport Museum on the Sabino, and was working for Amtrak for the past 25 years.

At the age of 59, he married Deborah Kneer Morrissey. They joined their families in a small intimate ceremony in May 2021. Mike lived a full life, often enjoying spending time with his family and friends, biking, boating, playing games, scuba diving, and caring for his home.

He is survived by his wife Deborah Kneer Morrissey, his daughters Stephanie Calhoun (Dan Calhoun), Leah Morrissey, Hannah Morrissey, grandsons Matt Calhoun, Elliot Calhoun, siblings Julie Morrissey Peker, James Morrissey, Kathleen Morrissey Cannon, Steven Morrissey and Jeffery Morrissey along with his step-children Jennifer Drisko, John Drisko, and Tyler Drisko. He joins his parents Paul Francis Morrissey, Mary Louise “Marilou” Schulte Morrissey and his brother Thomas Morrissey in death.

A wake will be held on Friday August 19th from 4pm-7pm at Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton, relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Funeral services will be private In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of New England.
