Obituary


Rose N. Guarnieri, South Boston MA, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2022.

Born in Chelsea Mass, December 24, 1927, Rose was the daughter of the late John o. Khachadoorian and Sarah N. (DerDavidian) Khachadoorian. She was raised in South Boston and Watertown, Mass. Rose attended South Boston High School and worked as a secretary for several insurance companies in the Boston area.

Rose enjoyed gardening and cooking Armenian dishes for her husband and family members. She also had a passion for dancing, often traveling to "Mosley's on the Charles" ballroom with her friends each week, dancing to her favorite Big Band music. It was during this time that Rose met her dancing partner, Joseph Guarnieri, who later became her husband. Upon her marriage in 1966, Rose retired in order to remain at home with Joe, to whom she was married for thirty-four years. Joe passed away February 2, 2000.

Rose and Joe enjoyed weekend trips throughout the New England region, visiting numerous historical sites. They were an important part of each other's' lives and when Joe passed, Rose often expressed her loss for her "soul mate". Rose was a caring and loving wife who was also very devoted to her siblings, nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Rose was predeceased by her parents and older brother Zavan T. Khachadoorian of Concord, California. She is survived by her sister Rosemary Z. Khachadoorian of Watertown, Mass, brother Vahan J. Khachadoorian (wife Sheila), Harwich Mass; several nephews: Thomas J. Khachadoorian, Harwich Mass; Gary Khachadoorian (daughter Marissa), Clayton, California; Bruce Khachadoorian, Westport, Conn.; Michael Lawton (wife Beverly), New York City; nieces Pamela Lawton, Southbridge, Mass and Ellen Jaworski (husband Donald; children Christopher and Ana), Los Altos, California. Also Douglas Pratt(wife Sylvia), Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Robert Pratt (wife Nancy) and their children, South Gibson, PA as well as several grandnieces and nephews. Our thanks to long-time friend and handyman Richard J. Bassill of Dorchester, Mass.

Private services will be held at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mt. Auburn St. Watertown with a private burial service to follow at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, Mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to St Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church,38 Elton Avenue, Watertown, MA 02472.
