Obituary

FISKDALE – Russell L. Vosburg, 86, died Sunday, August 14, 2022 in the Life Care Center of Auburn after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Aline L. (Tremblay) Vosburg; 2 sons, Alden J. Vosburg and his wife Cheryl of North Brookfield, and Eric R. Vosburg and his wife Shilo of Auburn; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Vosburg and his wife Tori, Nathan Vosburg and Jacob Vosburg, all of Auburn; a great-granddaughter, Lillian Irene; and nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Vernon Vosburg and by his 2 sisters, Beverly Bair and Barbara J. Vosburg.

He was born on February 10, 1936 in Worcester and raised in Webster, the youngest child of Alden and Jennie (Rothenburg) Vosburg. He graduated from Bartlett High School Trade School in 1954. When he married, he lived in Southbridge for a few years before moving to Fiskdale in 1969.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as an airman first class.

Mr. Vosburg first worked as a research technician at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 20 years. He then worked in grounds maintenance at Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge, retiring in 2001.

He was a member of the Church of the Reconciliation in Webster.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 27, in the Church of the Reconciliation, 21 North Main Street, Webster. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster, with military honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council Honor Guard.
