William J. McCarthy, age 81, of Canton, formerly of Stoughton and Needham, passed away August 9th. Born in Boston, he was raised in Roslindale and graduated from Boston Technical High School, Suffolk University, and received his Master’s Degree from Boston University. He was a History and Economics teacher at Needham High School for many years before retiring. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and taught at the American International School in Vienna, Austria.
Beloved brother of Jean Finnigan of Canton. Uncle of Susan Desjardins and her husband Marc of Canton and Carol Gray and her husband Stephen of Milford, NH. Great Uncle of Jacob and Nicole Desjardins and Emma Gray. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton Thursday morning August 18th at 11:30 am.
