Born in Framingham, on March 3, 1966, the son of the late Timothy and Nancy (Breen) Pickering. Steve was a lifelong resident of Medway.

Steve was known by his nieces and nephews as the “fun uncle.” He never asked for your wishlist but always showed up with the best gift year after year. With his carefree spirit, whether alone or with a friend, Steve was always up for an adventure. He had a passion for country music, especially Garth Brooks and he loved going to concerts. Steve also loved going to Red Sox games, or any other activity he saw advertised that sparked his interest, most recently the Norton Rodeo. Steve was always so proud to say he worked at DSW and you could always find him sporting the newest shoe! Steve also loved spending time with his dogs and taking them to the local dog park. Steve was an avid blood and plasma donor. He donated 48 pints of blood
products which saved 144 lives.

Steve previously worked as a Sales Associate at Bradley‘s in Milford MA and Caldor in Framingham MA. He also worked as a security officer for the last 28+ years. He worked for Reliable Security and then Allied Universal Security Services. Most recently, he was the Warehouse Lead at DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse in Framingham, MA, for the last 15+ years.

Stephen is survived by his four siblings whom he looked up to, Laureen Pickering of Medway; Timothy Pickering and his wife Susan of Uxbridge; Brian Pickering and his wife Kerry of Blackstone and Michael Pickering of Worcester.

He is also survived by his nieces nephews whom he adored, Jessica Prophet, Kelsey Rainha and her husband John, Alicia Pickering and her fiancé Habib Mutawakil, Shelly Pickering and her fiancé Nicole Seefried, Justin Pickering, Madison Kimble, Lillian Pickering and his great nephew, Andrew Prophet.
